Clearing Cache in Google Chrome

To clear your cache in Google Chrome

  1. Click the Menu (three dots in the top right)

  2. Choose More tools

  3. Choose "Clear browsing data."


 

  1. The most effective setting is to clear all browsing history for All time and to clear browsing history, download history, cached images and files, and cookies.
     

  1. Close your browser and restart to see changes.  

 

Set Chrome to automatically clear some cache items when it closes

 

This setting can help prevent caching errors by tidying up each time you exit Chrome.  It may not work if you stay signed into your Google Chrome account. With this in effect, you will have to sign in each time.

  1. Click the Menu in the upper right.

  2. Choose Settings

  3. Under Privacy and Security, select Cookies and other site data..
     

  1. Click Clear cookies and site data when you close all windows.

Opening a Private Browsing Window in Chrome

In Chrome, private browsing is called Incognito mode. To open a new tab or window in Incognito mode, 

  1. Open the Chrome Menu in the top right corner of the browser
  2. Select New incognito window

Privacy and Security Settings

  • For enhanced privacy and security settings: Settings > Advanced > Content Settings > Pop-up and redirects > Turn on “Blocked under Pop-ups and redirects”
  • To delete browser cookies: Settings > Privacy and security > Clear Browsing Data > check-mark Cookies and other site data > Clear data
  • To stop your browser from asking to save your passwords: Settings > Passwords > Turn off Offer To Save Passwords
