Clearing Your Browser Cache: Browsers on iOS mobile device

Instruction and resource for clearing your web browser's cache, cookies, and history.

Safari on an iOS mobile device

  • To delete your browser cookies: go to Settings on your iphone > Safari >  Clear History and Website Data
  • To browse in private: Safari for iOS / Mobile Devices: Open Safari on your iPhone or iPod touch > Tap the Tabs button < Tap [number] Tabs  to display the Tab Groups list > Tap the Private icon (hand)  then tap Done
  • To turn off private browsing on your iOS device: Open Safari on your iPhone or iPod touch > Tap the Tabs button >Tap Private  to show the >  Tab Groups list > Tap [number] Tabs with the iphone icon then tap Done

Firefox on an iOS mobile device

  • To clear browser cache in Firefox on an iOS mobile device: 
    • In Firefox mobile, click the menu bars in the upper right of the screen.
      • Choose Settings.
      • Scroll down to find Data Management. 
      • Click the button for "Clear Private Data."

Chrome on an iOS mobile device

  • To clear browser cache in Chrome on an iOS mobile device:
    1. Choose the three dot menu in the upper right of the screen. 
    2. Choose Settings.
    3. Choose Privacy.
    4. Select Clear Browsing Data. 
    5. Clear for All Time:
      • Cookies and Site Data
      • Browsing History
      • Cached Images and Files.
    6. Click Done.
