Clearing Your Browser Cache: Home

Instruction and resource for clearing your web browser's cache, cookies, and history.

Why Do We Clear Cache?

By default, your web browser stores cookies and other information about sites you visit.  Clearing your browser cache is often the easiest way to fix connection issues with library databases.

7 Tips for Safe Browsing

  1. Update your web browser. Updating your browser will let you use the latest security measures, identify threats, and block unwanted popups.
  2. Choose strict privacy and security settings on your browser. The privacy and security settings can be changed. For details, go to individual browser tab.
  3. Be careful what files/applications you download.
  4. Delete your browser cookies. Go to individual browser tab for details.
  5. Use ad blocker for enhanced privacy. Using an ad blocker removes the malicious advertising and prevents you from dangerous content.
  6. Stop your browser from asking to save your passwords. For individual browser, go to the tab.
  7. Create strong passwords and enable two-factor authentication (2FA). A strong password combination should contain special characters, symbols, uppercase letters, and digits.
