Interlibrary Loan

WorldShare ILL-Coming June 2, 2017

In order to better serve the Trinity Community, the Rolfing Library Interlibrary Loan Department will transition to WorldShare, a new platform that will replace ILLiad.

This change will have the following benefits for users:

  • More easily track requests and view request history
  • Text message notifications
  • Faster access to requested materials
  • Easier registration for new users

Please keep the following dates in mind:

  • June 5th – Official launch date, no new ILLiad requests
  • June 15th – Access to ILLiad request history ends
  • June 16th – No access to any ILLiad pages

All current ILLiad accounts will transition to WorldShare, but request history will not. Current ILLiad users will need to reset their passwords in WorldShare before they can log in. New users will need to create a new account.

For more information about this transition, please contact the ILL Office at or 847-317-4008. More information on how to use WorldShare will be forthcoming.

What is Interlibrary Loan?

Interlibrary loan is a service that allows us to borrow books and receive photocopies of periodical articles that are not available at Rolfing but can be obtained from other libraries. Interlibrary loan is comprised of two separate but joint departments:

  • Access to over 80 research library in the state of Illinois
  • Borrow books and some other physical items
  • Items delivered to Rolfing Library, or visit any I-Share library to borrow or return

  •  Access to thousands of libraries accross US and world
  • Borrow books and other physical items, as well as journal articles and copies of book chapters, etc
  • Physical items are delivered to Rolfing Library, photocopies are sent to your ILLiad account as a PDF

Users should always begin their search for books in I-Share. If a desired item is not available from any I-Share libraries, users may then submit a request for the item though ILLiad.

Request a Book or Other Physical Item

Books can be requested via two different methods. Follow the steps below.

1) I-Share: Items from over 80 academic libraries in Illinois (Learn how to place a request).

2) ILLiad: Items from thousands of libraries, located all over the world (Learn how to place a request).

Request an Article or Book Chapter
