Rolfing Library and the TEDS/TWU Merger - FAQ: Home

Rolfing Library & the TEDS/TWU Merger: FAQ

On April 8, 2025, it was announced that TEDS had entered into a formal agreement to take steps to move under the auspices of Trinity Western University.

The purpose of this page is to provide answers on what this means for Rolfing Library and your access to library resources and services. Please note that these answers represent the best understanding of library staff at the time and may be changed based upon new information about the details of the merger.

Will I still have access to library services and resources for the 2025-2026 school year?

Yes! Rolfing Library will be open and offering services and resources through the 2025-2026 school year. This includes access to physical books, ebooks, and databases, as well as research help. You can also currently place requests through IShare and WorldShare.

The Rolfing Library building will permanently close in the summer of 2026. At that point, Trinity Western University will provide library services and resources for TEDS students.

What is happening to the books?

Some of the books relevant to continuing TEDS programs will be sent to Trinity Western University and become part of their collection. Others will be given away to individuals and organizations. Library staff will determine what to do with the giveaway books that are not claimed.

Are there books being given away now? If so, which ones?

Yes! Some books are available for giveaway now. Currently available books are those not determined to be crucial for the final academic year at the Bannockburn campus. As decisions are made about which books will be going to Trinity Western and additional sections are reviewed by Rolfing Library staff, additional books will be made available for giveaway. This is an ongoing process; please email libref@tiu.edu if you have questions about specific call number ranges.

How can I get books that are being given away?

Books that are available for giveaway can be found in the lower level of the library, to the left of the stairs (formerly the M-Z section of the library collection). Only books that have a green slash across the spine label are available for giveaway. The other books are still circulating as normal in order to support students for this academic year.

All giveaway books must be brought up to the library services desk so they can be checked out of our system. Please note that individuals are limited to no more than 50 books per day. If you are acquiring books on behalf of another educational institution or faith organization and would like to acquire more than 50 books, please email libref@tiu.edu. All books must be removed from the library at the time of selection. Library staff is not able to package or ship books for individuals or organizations. The library asks that individuals take items for personal use and not to sell.

What's happening with the dissertations, projects, and theses?

Trinity Western University will be adding all of Trinity International University's dissertations, projects, and theses to their library. Print copies will be packed up and shipped to British Columbia over the next few months.

I'm a professor and would like to request that we hold onto certain titles. What should I do?

Please email assetrequest@tiu.edu with your request. Include the title and author, and (if you have it) the publication year and Rolfing Library call number of each resource. We'll try our best to honor your request.
