Borrowing and Renewing

Things to Remember

  • You must have your TIU ID with you to check out items. We will also accept your driver's license or other picture ID, but you cannot check items out without a valid form of photo id.
  • Item limit is 100 total items
  • You may only request 3 items to be placed on hold for youfrom the Rolfing Library at a time. After the third item is requested, your account will be blocked until the requests have been processed.
  • Study Carrels are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and must be renewed each semester. See the Circulation Desk for more details.

Check Out Periods for TIU Items - Doctoral Students


  • 3 month loan period (90 days)
  • 3 renewal periods of 3 months (90 days)
  • New Books: 21 days, no renewals
  • Books on Display and Faculty Authors collection: 21 days, 2 renewals
  • All books can be recalled at any time.  


  • 7 day loan period
  • 3 renewal periods of 7 days

Audiobooks, CDs, and Cassettes:

  • 14 day loan period
  • 3 renewal periods of 14 days

2-Hour Reserves:

  • Loan period: 120 minutes
  • 1 renewal period of 120 minutes

1 Day Reserves:

  • Loan period:  1 day
  • No renewals

Paying a TIU Fine by Credit Card

To pay fines due to the Rolfing Library by credit card, please fill out this form. At this time, all credit card payments must be for at least $5.00.

To pay a fine for materials from I-Share libraries, please contact the lending school directly.  You can find information about who to contact at each I-Share library here. You will want to contact the person in charge of Circulation or Patron Billing. 

Renew Your Books

 Renew books from Trinity or I-Share

  • From the library home page, click "My Account" on the top of the page and choose "TIU / I-Share."
  • Login with your TIU username and password (the ones you use for TIU email, myTIU, Moodle, ec.).
  • Click "Loans" from the menu near the top.
  • Beside each book you should see a link to renew.

Renew items requested through WorldShare

  • Log in to your WorldShare account. 
  • If an item can be renewed, it will have a "Renew" button next to it. Click on the button, and you will receive an e-mail letting you know if the item has been renewed or not.
