Rolfing Library OneSearch: Home

undefinedWhat is OneSearch?

OneSearch is Rolfing's new discovery tool -- it will provide simple, one-stop searching for books and e-books, videos, articles, digital media, and more. Enter your search terms into the single box and you'll see all available resources in a single, integrated list.

What can I do in OneSearch?

OneSearch allows you to do more than just search for materials. Once you sign in, you can:

  • View and renew your loans
  • Access your previous searches
  • Save and set up notifications on searches you've made
  • Save items to your "favorites" list
  • Access course reserve lists
  • Check to see if items are available
  • Do a "virtual browse" of items on the shelf beside the one(s) you're looking up
  • See the full results list, including electronic resources immediately available
  • Request materials from WorldShare and other I-Share libraries

What will OneSearch look like when I use it?

To get a preview of the software OneSearch uses, check out Northwestern University's NUSearch or Harvard University's HOLLIS. (Without signing in you won't be able to see all of its functionality, but you'll at least be able to get a sense of how it will work.)

What will I need to do to prepare for OneSearch?

If you have an existing list of favorites in TrinCat (Rolfing's old search platform) you'd like to keep, make sure to get that information before June 24, 2020. Otherwise, you don't have to do anything! All your existing information (checkouts, holds, fines, and contact information) will automatically migrate into OneSearch.
