Fines/Fees

Overdue: When you borrow from an I-Share library, overdue fines are not assessed until an item is 28 days overdue. At that point, you will be billed for item replacement and processing fees from the lending library. The amount of these fines will vary from library to library.

Damages/Lost Items: You are responsible for the well-being of each item. Damages to the item, including but not limited to water damage, pen/pencil/other writing utensil markings, ripped pages, torn covers, and/or loss of the item will result in item replacement and processing fees. These fees are assessed by the lending library, and will vary in amount depending on the library's policies.

All fines/fess assessed by an I-Share library must be paid directly to that library. TIU is unable to take payment for fines/fees at other I-Share libraries.

Help! My account is blocked!

Your account is automatically blocked if:

  • Your account is blocked once you have requested 3 items be put on hold from the collection here at Rolfing Library. The block is automatically lifted when the hold requests have been processed. We would recommend cancelling one of your hold requests, requesting your books through I-Share, and then resubmitting the request for the third item from our collection.
  • Fines at I-Share libraries exceed $200.
  • More than 3 items from I-Share libraries are marked as lost.
  • More than 25 items are overdue.

An I-Share library can also request that your account be blocked for violating their policies. You can see what libraries have fined or blocked your account by logging in to your I-Share account and selecting "Blocks." If a library has blocked your account, you will need to contact them directly. The contact information for I-Share libraries can be found by clicking here
