Borrowing and Renewing

Renew Your Books

 Renew books from Trinity or I-Share

  • From the library home page, click "My Account" on the top of the page and choose "TIU / I-Share."
  • Login with the user name and password you created.
  • Click "Checked Out Items" on the right hand side.
  • In the farthest right column of the information given for each of your check out items, you will see small boxes.
  • To renew an item, or multiple items, check the item's box and click "Renew Selected Items" at the bottom of the page.
  • Your items should now present a renewed due date.
  • However, if you have renewed an item the maximum amount of times you will instead see this message: "Renew Request failed!" In this case, you are unable to renew that item.

Renew items requested through WorldShare

  • Log in to your WorldShare account. 
  • If an item can be renewed, it will have a "Renew" button next to it. Click on the button, and you will receive an e-mail letting you know if the item has been renewed or not.  

Blocked Accounts

If you have trouble requesting books through I-Share, checking out books, or renewing, your account may be blocked. Your account could be blocked for the following reasons:

  • Fines greater than $5 on material from Rolfing Library or I-Share libraries (this includes charges for interlibrary loan articles)
  • A book has gone to lost status, instead of overdue status (this time varies by I-Share library)
  • An I-Share library asks us to suspend patrons account, (usually because of lost or large fine amounts). We may suspend a patron's account - usually because of lost books or unpaid fines
  • 3 or more items requested from the Trinity Library. After requests are processed the block will be cleared. If you need to continue requesting from I-Share libraries, we recommend canceling one of your TIU books, making your requests, and then placing the request for the third TIU item.
  • 10 or more overdue items on your account
  • "Expired in System" - Your account has not been updated in our system. If you are a current member of the TIU community (if a student you must be taking classes or on continuation) please contact Circulation or Becky Frank.

Setting Other Students as Proxies

If you will not be on campus in the near future, but your friend will be, you can set up your friend up as your proxy, which means s/he can check out books on your behalf.

1. Checking out from Rolfing Library

Fill out the Proxy Authorization Form to enable your friend to check out books under your account. You will still be responsible for the book if it is lost or overdue, and once it is checked out it is placed on your account. 

2. WorldShare requests (WorldCat and article requests)

To set up a proxy for your WorldShare account, list your friend as an authorized user in the Tools section of your WorldShare account.
