Borrowing and Renewing

Things to Remember

  • Courtesy Patrons: Alumni, spouses of TIU staff and students, ACTS Students and Staff, Bannockburn residents, Vernon Area Public Library card-holders, full-time EFCA Church employees, ATLA Reciprocal Borrowing members, students at Midnorth Theological Seminary, and other categories as approved. 
  • Visitors: Anyone living within a 60 mile radius of Trinity. There is an annual fee of $25.00 for visitors.
  • Courtesy Patron item limit is 50 total items. Courtesy patrons are not charged a fee.
  • Visitor Patron item limit is 10 items.

Check Out Periods for TIU Items - Courtesy Patrons/Visitors

Visitors to the library are welcome to use materials on-site. If you wish to check out books, you may get a courtesy or visitor card. Interlibrary Loan is not available for Courtesy or Visitor patrons.

Courtesy Patrons: 

  • Alumni
  • Spouses of TIU staff and students
  • ACTS libraries students and staff
  • ATLA Reciprocal Borrowing Program students and staff
  • LIBRAS libraries students and staff
  • Students at Midnorth Theological Seminary
  • Bannockburn residents
  • Vernon Area Public Library patrons
  • Full-time employees of Evangelical Free churches
  • Other categories as approved

Courtesy Patrons must live within a 60 mile radius of Trinity (includes Rockford, IL). They are not charged a fee.

Visitors:

  • Anyone living within a 60 mile radius of Trinity (includes Rockford, IL), excluding courtesy patrons listed above
  • A fee of $25.00 per year is charged to visitors.

I-Share patrons:

  • Students, faculty and staff at other I-Share libraries may use their school ID to check out books.

Books:

  • 4 week loan period (28 days)
  • 3 renewal periods of 4 more weeks
  • New Books: 21 day loan, no renewals
  • Books on Display and Faculty Authors collection: 21 days, 2 renewals
  • All books can be recalled at any time.  

DVDs:

  • 7 day loan period
  • 3 renewal periods of 7 days

Audiobooks, CDs, and Cassettes:

  • 14 day loan period
  • 3 renewal periods of 14 days

Interlibrary Loan: Courtesy/Visitor patrons do not have access to interlibrary loan privileges at this time. Please check with your local public library if you need to obtain something Rolfing Library does not own.

Renew Your Books

 Renew books from Trinity

  • From the library home page, click "My Library Account" on the right hand side of the page under the heading "My Accounts."
  • Login with the user name and password you created.
  • Click "Checked Out Items" on the right hand side.
  • In the farthest right column of the information given for each of your check out items, you will see small boxes.
  • To renew an item, or multiple items, check the item's box and click "Renew Selected Items" at the bottom of the page.
  • Your items should now present a renewed due date.
  • However, if you have renewed an item the maximum amount of times you will instead see this message: "Renew Request failed!" In this case, you are unable to renew that item.
