Things to Remember

  • You must have your TIU ID with you to check out items. We will also accept your driver's license or other picture ID, but you cannot check items out without a valid form of photo id.
  • Item limit is 100 total items

Setting Student Assistants as Proxies

Faculty can set up their student and grad assistants as proxies, which means the students can check out books and request items from other libraries for them.

1. Checking out from Rolfing Library

Fill out the Proxy Authorization Form to enable the students to check out books under your account.

2. Requesting through I-Share

The student can create their own username and password that is linked to the faculty member's account. Just fill out the "Create New Account" form. The student puts their information in the top portion (including a username and password of their choice). The faculty member's ID number and last name go under the "Library Catalog Profile."

3. WorlsShare requests (WorldCat and article requests)

Unfortunately, WorldShare users are unable to create proxy accounts at this time. All requests must be placed using the faculty or staff member's personal account.

Books:

  • 3 month loan period (91 days)
  • 2 renewal periods of 3 months each (91 days each). 
  • New Books: 21 day loan, no renewals
  • Books on Display and Faculty Authors collection: 21 days, 2 renewals 
  • All books can be recalled at any time. 

DVDs:

  • 7 day loan period
  • 3 renewal periods of 7 days

Audiobooks, CDs, and Cassettes:

  • 14 day loan period
  • 3 renewal periods of 14 days

2-Hour Reserves:

  • Loan period: 120 minutes
  • 1 renewal period of 120 minutes

1 Day Reserves:

  • Loan period:  1 Day
  • No renewals

Renew Your Books

 Renew books from Trinity or I-Share

  • From the library home page, click "My Account" on the top of the page and choose "TIU / I-Share."
  • Login with the user name and password you created.
  • Click "Checked Out Items" on the right hand side.
  • In the farthest right column of the information given for each of your check out items, you will see small boxes.
  • To renew an item, or multiple items, check the item's box and click "Renew Selected Items" at the bottom of the page.
  • Your items should now present a renewed due date.
  • However, if you have renewed an item the maximum amount of times you will instead see this message: "Renew Request failed!" In this case, you are unable to renew that item.

Renew items requested through WorldShare

  • Log in to your WorldShare account. 
  • If an item can be renewed, it will have a "Renew" button next to it. Click on the button, and you will receive an e-mail letting you know if the item has been renewed or not.
