Library Services During COVID-19 Precautions: Updates

Special Library Hours

The library is currently closed until further notice.

By following federal and state recommendations for restrictions on social gatherings, we're prioritizing the health of the TIU community. For instructions on accessing library materials, see below.

I-Share services have also been shut down.

Overdue fines have been suspended for all books from Rolfing, I-Share and WorldShare, so you may wait to return them.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at libref@tiu.edu.

Getting Resources

Wherever you are, you have access to Rolfing's electronic resources.

If you need to access materials not directly available online, send us a WorldShare request.

  • Never used WorldShare before? Click here for step-by-step instructions.
  • For your ease and safety, we will send you PDF scans of resources rather than lending you physical items.
  • Bear in mind that our staffing is limited during this time. Please only request items you specifically need to complete your current projects.
  • If you need a resource from another library, please request a scan of a book section, chapter, or article. Full books cannot be obtained from other libraries at this time.
  • We'll process your requests as quickly as we can. Thanks for your patience!
  • Contact ill@tiu.edu with any questions or concerns.

If you need a course reserve:

  • Professors/Instructors: Email Nathan Thebarge with the specific course materials you need and we'll provide you with a PDF you can add to your course Moodle page or distribute to your students.
  • Students: If the resource isn't available on your Moodle page, submit a WorldShare request and we'll send you a scan.

Research Help

We are available for research assistance between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM Monday through Friday.

  • If you don't already have Google Chat activated:

    • Click on the Chat tab and make sure Chat on is selected.
    • Click Save Changes to exit the settings page.
  • Click on the conversation bubble icon in the bottom left corner of the Gmail page.
  • Click the plus sign icon beside your name to start a new conversation.
  • After you click the plus sign icon, select New group.
  • Enter the TIU email addresses of your group members and click the green check mark when you're done.
  • To start a video call, click the video camera icon in the top left corner of the chat box.
